Times' Silver Prints 1980
I think of those special days that didn't seem so special then.
But now, time has made its sort, Gilded the best of them, and stored them in my mental attic.
Beautiful, framed memories.
With you gone, that dusty album of silverprints takes me back to those days that now mean so much more.
Rare, treasured moments, Priceless and few.
True gems in the time of our lives.

Change and Truth
1992
Change
and truth
are constant, and surprise.
like waves
crashing on sandy shores of time.
Change
and truth
aren't always apparent.
sometime they hide amid the routine.
Change
and truth
aren't always good, or wanted.
like storms at sea, their impacts may
be near or far, good and bad.
Change
and truth
are cousins
You can't change the truth
but truly you can change.
Art (amended)
1999
Art evolves as life itself.
Primitive to modern, classical to jazz.
New art shocks because it forces
new ways of seeing, new ways of feeling;
a shaking of the foundations.
Change happens in no other way.
The breadth of art increases,
as does knowledge.
We gain understanding more and more,
Wisely learning the "why’s" of the Universe.
We do art to learn,
to comprehend what was, what is
and what can be.
The miracle of art is its eternity.
Art persists because
we react naturally with the Universe,
a part of its continual creation.
To make art is to come into harmony with the All.
In so doing, the artist is enjoined by a spirit
and is neither lost nor found,
here nor there, but is in art.
The artist works his medium with unconscious control,
by consensual possession of the Spirit.
The outcome happens when satisfaction crystallizes.
It is not predictable.
To appreciate art is to sense the Harmony,
to sense the Spirit, to be humored by the surprise.
We do art, we view art, because we need attenuation.
When one is in sync, and can echo the groove time and
again, he is the artist.
When one is in sync, and can sense the groove, time
and again, he is the art lover.
Behold art, the miracle it is.
Visual Wishes
1996
Dreams are visual wishes
the insights and discoveries of wants and needs.
Dreams give rise to achievements that otherwise
might not see light of day.
Dreams elicit imagination which guides us toward
new realities and keep our existence from turning
into repetitive nightmares.
Per Sea, Us
1991
As evening falls
and the stars of Perseus
come shooting
I lie down beside you
to drift
on a sea
of tranquility.
Reflected
in your heavenward eyes
are the fleeting glories
of the falling stars
we've come to see.
Enraptured
you draw me near
easing my chill
with your warmth.
You close your eyes.
Our lips become one
And in the peace
of that mid-August night
we fill the Universe
with a light
of our own.
