Victor Pytko has held management positions in public and business
communications for more than 30 years.

With experience in travel and tourism, economic development,
technology, and automotive industry sectors, Pytko specializes in
business-to-consumer and business-to-business communications.

Since he founded PorterPytko Marketing and Public Relations, he has
served as Director of Communications for Econ Global Services, an IT
services management firm, provided communications counsel to the
City of Auburn Hills, and helped Powerlink, a building and facilities
management and maintenance firm, create a new brand.

Earlier he provided counsel to MetroPCS-Detroit and acted as
spokesperson for the Lac Vieux Desert Indian tribe during their
successful legal fight over the Constitutionality of Detroit casino
licensing.

In 2001, Pytko founded the Individual Communicators Network, a not-
for-profit association of independent communications practitioners.

Before that he helped set up and manage the Detroit office of
Strat@comm, a national transportation-focused PR firm, and headed
the Detroit office of Hill and Knowlton, a global PR firm that served as
Mazda North America’s news bureau.

Pytko has led many high-profile PR projects including the national re-
branding of Goodyear Auto Services Centers to Gemini (through J.
Walter Thompson), the renovation of the Detroit Marriott Renaissance
Center, the North American introduction of a GPS-based car navigation
system for Philips Electronics, and the opening of the Detroit-Tokyo
route for Northwest Airlines which included sumo wrestling
demonstration in four major cities.

His background also includes similar work for Coopers & Lybrand,
Arthur Anderson, Fort Street Capital, Cushman & Wakefield, the Welsh
Development Agency and the Canadian Consulate General.

Pytko began his PR career in 1982 after 12 years managing
newsrooms for dailies in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He writes an arts
column for the examiner.com/detroit, a national online news service.

Pytko attended Indiana University, 1963 to 1967, majoring in astronomy
and also studied computer sciences at Washtenaw (Michigan)
Community College and Eastern Michigan University, 1980 to 1982. He
completed an internal management training program while employed
at Hill and Knowlton.
